So in the last six weeks my father has suffered a stroke, a good friend has died of cancer, another friend fell and broke her ankle and today I got a phone call that a neighbor is going into the hospital next week for exploratory surgery on a possible case of lymphoma.
I am very familiar with that saying, God doesn’t give you more than you can handle….I just wonder if she isn’t just a little overconfident in my abilities.
 About a month ago I wrote a note on the Buffalo Pundit’s blog that I was very excited about the Sabres playoff prospects.Â
At the time I was soundly shushed by some diehard Buffalo sports junkies who worried that I might be jinxing the team by voicing my enthusiasm.
Well, I have to say that after tonight’s unbelievable game in Ottawa, I am more amazed and thrilled by the Sabres than ever before. The game was fast and furious and non-stop in the scoring department. And for anyone who got back to the tube a little late in over time….they missed all the excitement as the Sabres won 18 secs into the extra period.
 A Senator’s player whiffed on the puck and left it wide open for the good guys to score…..and they did.
It was AWESOME!!
Go SABRES!!
Eight goals and two hat tricks!!!
Making history tonight, the Sabres took names and kicked butt in winning the second game of their Stanley Cup Playoff Series, round one.Â
It was an exciting game from the first three minutes with two goals scored, to the final hat trick goal scored with only a minute 18 seconds left to play.
And the stark contrast between the stunned Flyers and the exuberant Sabres fans made the victory all the more delicious.
Maybe the Stanley Cup’s arrival in town today was just the motivation this team needed to play out of their pants.
