In honor of Sunday’s celebration of motherhood, this week’s BuffaloStyle podcast will focus on mothers and daughters and one of their essential bonds…food!
Christina’s in-studio guest will be Lisabeth Pieters. Lisabeth is a mother, daughter and a high school educator. She is also a WNY’er dedicated to the creation of healthy foods for children of all ages.
Through her company, Baby Talk WNY, Lisabeth is helping parents to learn the sweet and easy lessons of preparing healthy and nutritious food for their newborn and growing children. She is also incorporating sign language into her Baby Talk classes as a means of fostering communicating with children at very early ages.
I am particularly enthusiastic about Lisabeth’s appearance on Buffalostyle as, in addition to her accomplishments as a mother and a professional woman, Lisabeth is my own daughter….and I can’t imagine a more fun guest for a Mother’s Day Show than my own child!
I’ll also be hosting Michelle Kasprzk as she shares a very special Mother’s Day story with us.
Michelle is a mother of three, the newest being Michael, born February 18th. The tragic twist to the story of Michael’s birth is that both mother and son almost died due to birth complications and Michael now suffers from permanent damage to his brain.
However, in typical BuffaloStyle, the Kasprzyk Family has rallied around baby Michael and helped him make incredible strides that will actually allow him to come home from the hospital. The frustration now is that they cannot find enough nurses to hire for home care and so their son remains hospitalized, disconnected from the family that intensely wants to hold and love him.
