I spent Good Friday evening at Holy Spirit Church in Langford. I’d never before been inside the small rural church set along Route 249 and I found it to be quite beautiful and inspiring.
I was invited to the Church by a very special young man who I’ve known since his birth. Twelve years into life, this almost teen has become a talented musician and singer, performing regularly in a variety of musical events. His latest musical endeavor involved a church based choral group presenting this Good Friday concert of songs and readings and I was most pleased to be able to attend.  Â
I must admit that I agreed to partake in the service mainly in support of this wonderful young man. Yet, the beauty of the music and the richly spiritual setting of the country church truly added a dimension to Good Friday that has been missing from my life for many years. Sort of a feeling of renewal…much like the true purpose of the Lenten Season.
So even though it’s cold and snowy today, I have a feeling of spring within….
