Thank God!
Finally a radio station in Albany has taken the lead and started an all-woman talk radio station….all women, all the time!!
 This is what I’ve been yammering about for the last two years…it’s a no brainer…women are more than half the population and definitely the dollar spending consumer in most households. They are the people that any savvy media organization should be targeting in content and in voice.
 Unfortunately, this message has pretty much fallen on deaf ears in WNY. Oh sure, there have been the few and the brave women who have been allowed to breach the traditionally all-male radio talk airwaves. But for the most part, local programmers have chosen to keep local talk radio within the realm of the all male domain.
 Perhaps now with the advent of WEEV or EVE 1300 AM, which debuted Jan. 2, WNY programmers will begin to reconsider the talk radio gender gap that so frustratingly dominates our region.
 Come on boys….for once let’s join the leaders of the pack, rather than follow along like simple sheep.
Hooray for GreenStone Media and the high-powered women behind it, including Gloria Steinem, Jane Fonda and former Federal Communications Commissioner Susan Ness. Keep on keepin’ on ladies and just maybe more of us will get a chance to join you.
